A German company has launched a Timeshare-style scheme encouraging two to eight co-owners to combine to purchase a holiday home.
Launched in 2021, MYNE works like this: individual co-owners stump up their share of a purchase price, beginning at £99,000, while the MYNE platform brings together owners who appear compatible – for example, a family with school-age children may be paired with a family without children, reducing the risk of wanting to use the property at the same time.
A statement from the firm says: “The launch in the UK comes at a time where many Brits dreaming of owning a holiday home are navigating the complexities of Brexit limitations and European regulations – with countries like France banning second home ownership in popular resorts by foreign buyers.”
MYNE claims that its operations in European locations show an average of 3% to 6% capital appreciation per year, depending on location, with its registered properties used on average 85% of the year.
