Vector Markets, a Miami-based fintech company founded by Michael J. Gerrity, is developing what it describes as a “parallel digital financial market ecosystem.” At the center of its strategy is the tokenization of real-world assets, including real estate, equities, fixed income, commodities, and private market assets–alongside synthetic and crypto markets, within a vertically integrated system designed to operate 24/7 across global markets.

For the property sector, the implications could be significant. Traditionally, real estate has been one of the least liquid asset classes–burdened by high transaction costs, lengthy settlement timelines, and fragmented ownership structures. Vector Markets’ architecture proposes a fundamentally different model: real estate assets represented as programmable tokens that can be traded, collateralized, and settled instantly on a unified platform.
At the core of the system is VMX (Vector Markets Exchange), an AI-driven global exchange intended to provide continuous price discovery and liquidity across all asset types, including tokenized property. This is paired with a dedicated “TOKENS” layer, where ownership interests in real estate–ranging from commercial buildings to infrastructure projects–can be digitized into fractionalized, yield-generating instruments.
Industry observers say this could unlock a wave of new capital flows into property markets. By lowering minimum investment thresholds and enabling fractional ownership, tokenization has the potential to broaden access to real estate for both institutional and retail investors worldwide. At the same time, automated settlement via integrated stablecoin rails could reduce closing times from weeks to seconds.
Vector Markets’ platform also introduces a synthetic exposure layer, allowing investors to gain price exposure to real estate indices or specific property sectors without direct ownership. This could mirror how derivatives transformed equity markets, offering hedging and speculative tools that have historically been limited in real estate.
Perhaps more novel is the inclusion of a prediction market layer called the Price Engine, where participants will be able to trade on both real estate market outcomes and broader financial market outcomes, including macroeconomic variables and property-specific trends such as interest rate trajectories, housing supply dynamics, and regional price movements. These probabilistic signals, aggregated across the platform, could feed into pricing models and risk assessments for real estate assets in real time.
The company’s broader ambition is to unify execution, settlement, data, and intelligence into a single operating system for capital markets. For real estate, that means a future where property is no longer a static, illiquid holding, but a dynamic financial instrument that can be traded globally, around the clock.
While the concept aligns with growing interest in real-world asset tokenization–a sector that has attracted increasing attention from institutional investors and regulators alike–significant hurdles remain. Legal frameworks for property tokenization, jurisdictional compliance, and investor protections will all play a critical role in determining how quickly such systems can scale.
Still, the direction of travel is clear. As digital infrastructure continues to converge with traditional finance, platforms like Vector Markets are positioning real estate not just as a physical asset, but as a programmable component of a broader, AI-driven financial ecosystem.
